About us

Shelter Storage offers heated and protected indoor storage to business customers. We have been doing so for over 25 years. Our owner, Herman Bodéwes, lived in the United States in 1986 when a large business park became available in Oldenzaal (eastern Netherlands, close to the German border). At first, this seemed a good investment opportunity because of the new A1 motorway that was being built in the immediate vicinity. However, Bodéwes soon discovered the major market for goods storage, following American examples and, in the first few stages, helped by American investors. Shelter Storage started out with 37,000 m² and expanded all the way to 92,000 m². This area equals fifteen European football fields, divided in eighteen halls. Our corporate philosophy is fourfold: reliable, affordable, accessible and protected. We accommodate customers of any size, for as long (or briefly) as you need storage space − from one single day to an indefinite period of time.
